Deer in the Little Forest

Although we see them quite often, it always makes me smile when I see them wandering through our woods. I took this photo through our living room window; you can see the top of our deck railing. There was actually a whole herd of 5 walking through, real slow, always watching the house. I call them 'the survivors' because they survived the hunting season! By the way, this year my husband didn't get anything! Good for them ;-))
Obwohl wir ja relativ oft Rehe oder Hirsche zu Gesicht bekommen, so freue ich mich doch immer, wenn sie durch unseren Wald wandern. Dieses Foto habe ich durch unser Wohnzimmerfenster gemacht, ihr koennt noch den Rand unseres Terrassengelaenders sehen. Es war eine Herde von 5, die da durchlief, ganz langsam, immer das Haus im Auge. Ich nenne sie 'die Ueberlebenden' , weil sie die Jagdsaison ueberlebt haben! Uebrigens hat mein Mann dieses Jahr nichts erlegt! Da hatten sie Glueck!!
