The Calm after the Storm

This is how our world looks like this morning. We had ice rain yesterday all day and snow and wind in the night. This is the view towards our driveway. This is NOT a black and white shot! But it looks like it.... no color!!

It does look cool-it looks like Narnia. It's so gray and dreary, yet beautiful at the same time. It's amazing to open the blinds first thing in the morning, and look out into the snow. The way the snow is lightly sprinkled on the treetops-it's mind boggling.
Good post!

Hi Gudl,
I didn't want to scare your daughter by leaving a comment on Abby's blog, but her symptoms sound way too familiar to us over here. Have you gotten a second opinion? I hope she's feeling better soon.

can you drive down your driveway? I don't know if I could live in the snow. I would think that it is a whole different way of life.
Oh my goodness! Does that sound like something coming out of the mouth of a Californian!? LOL!
I will never forget picking up my son from the airport two Christmas's ago. He didn't have a jacket on and I was freezing. It was so cold. I asked him if he was cold, he started to laugh stating that coming from Nebraska, the weather in California he has come to appreciate. It felt like Hawaii to him. Makes me think!

I do think I would enjoy just curling up next to the fire with a good book, hot chocolate and it looking like your photos. I know you still have to live life. It goes on... school, work, chores and so on.

Stay warm.
:)

It looks very serene and like Alaska to me. Last night we were supposed to just get a flake or two. Two inches later and we also had a rarity here--Thundersnow. That is when you get lightning and thunder when it is snowing. Weird.

You got a lot more snow and ice than we got and yesterday it turned warm enough to melt everything we got and had.

I like your photographs. They certainly show your isolation and give me a chill. It just looks cold.
