Welcome to my Blog! Thanks for stopping by! I would like to show my friends and family the beautiful world around me. I was born in Germany but live in Upstate New York for 19 years now. I love it! <>Das Los ist mir gefallen auf liebliches Land; mir ist ein schönes Erbteil geworden Psalm 16:6 <> *Click on the photos and they enlarge!*

That is amber. It leaks out of trees and sometimes captures insects in it and maybe a thousand years from now the insect will look perfectly preserved in the amber. It is coming out many different places on my old cherry tree that is dying.
It will eventually become a fossil or fossilized.
de la resine non ?
The resin, is not it?
Harz/resin?!
Harz
Maple Syrup
amber.....but isn't it called amber after it has been petrafied? i had some when I was a kid it was really cool.
Correct answer T. Tree sap, be it maple or pine is resin and that turns in to amber after fossilizing.

It looks like tree sap to me. I don't know the scientific word for it. It makes for an interesting photo! I guess it comes out during the winter time.

My sister loves this.. has many pieces of jewelery in this. A couple of them even have an insect in it. Isn't that amazing? They really are beautiful.
