Eltviller Burg (Castle Eltville)
Eltville is my birth place! It lies about 2 miles away from Kiedrich, directly at the Rhine river. This castle is right next to it.
Eltville is famous for its roses and for its wine.

I've just been catching up on all your latest photos. Looks like it was an amazing trip! You come from a beautiful area. Is it hard to switch back to speaking German when you go home? It must be cool to speak two languages!!
Gudl..your photos are just beautiful...I love the roses draped over the castle wall..
it is beautiful this castle, I like the angle of the second photo.
I am loving all these pictures from Germany...even if they do make me a bit homesick, they are all bringing a smile to my face. Looks like you're having a wonderful time!
Oh what beautiful pictures ~~ what a lovely place to be born.
Loving all these pictures Gudl.
OH My GOODNESS! Those roses are spectacular! I bet they smell wonderful! Love that photo!
What a beautiful castle and how wonderful to have been born near there-- and the Rhine. I have never been to Germany but I do speak a LITTLE German -- enough that I can read and mostly understand what is said.
Looks like a fairy tale!
Very pretty! I agree with Mike...It looks like a fairy tale.
I was once on a boat going up the Rhine and saw many castles - this my have been one of them!
You were born in a beautiful place.
It's beautiful. I think it would be a lovely place to visit.
Roses and Wine. How perfect!
And this place reminds me of a fairytale!
