I love that tradition, and how fun to find little gifts to hang on the avent staircase!! I love traditions..They make every holiday special in it's own way!

Gudl, you asked why there were no cars on the street in my blog today. It was late Sunday afternoon when I took that photo. There were very few people downtown at that time.

T, I did email you last night
That is a nice photograph and it is also one that reminded me that my wife used to hang a large red stocking on the brick fireplace. And each one had the child's name on it. Then she would wrap up small gifts and put in the stocking and the child was allowed to take one gift each day up until Christmas. Sometimes, as the children got older, the gifts got a little nicer in quality. But it was a fun this to do.
How fun! I think it's a great idea! Did you do this for the boys when they were still at home?
When the boys were little they had Adventcalendars, too. But I have to admit, not as big ;-)
