Is it always this cold in Siberia?

I am thinkful for good heating too, and that winter doesn't last forever. What I really need is a good pair of thick mittens. Gloves just don't keep the fingers warm enough.

When we lived in Alaska we had really good insulation and everything, but we had 3 weeks once where it never got warmer and minus or negative 20 below. One morning we woke up and it was -67 degrees F outside. That was really cold. You sound cold to me anymore, although we've had a few days in a row here where it was minus degrees. Seems like a cold winter.

Welcome back, Gudl. I don't dare tell you what our weather has been for the past week and they are forecasting yet another week of the same. This is the time of the year when all the TV weather men in our area post video clips of all the blizzards, snow drifts and ice storms elsewhere in the country and then follow it up with people lying on the beach and surfers in the waves. It makes all of us who hate the cold feel good!!!

6 degrees F here or 14.4 degrees C this morning and this is supposed to be our high for the day.

We should all be thankful for our heating systems. When I was small, we had to go outside and pick up coal and bring that in the house to burn. It was never really as warm in our old house as homes are today.

Was ein Winter!

I don't ever remember it getting as cold as -17 here, but my memory isn't as good as my sister's (and I'm younger!). This is COLD! Maybe the kids will actually get a snow day tomorrow!

Before you know it, summer will be here!

Yeah! Nice to see you again. I think that's -20 C. Aaaagh. How do you cope with that? I love the new snow. Want to run through it. It's many years since I've done that as we don't have much snow anymore :(
