The other day we were going on a country ride when my husband said 'turn round and have a look at the donut tree'. Honestly, I didn't even see it when we passed by, but when I looked back I thought, too, that this looks pretty cool. So voila! What do you think? Kuerzlich sind wir durch die Gegend gefahren als mein Mann sagte 'dreh dich mal rum und schau dir den Donut Baum an'. Ehrlich gesagt, habe ich den Baum erst gar nicht beachtet, aber als ich ihn nun sah dachte ich auch, wie cool! Voila! Hier ist er. Was denkt ihr?

I have seen trees trimmed by power companies and they almost always dead-head the trees (cut the top off) but these guys were a little more creative. If it had to be done at least the damage to the tree was minimized. Nice shot.

I thought of how an x-ray reveals the inside of a human when I saw this - of course I only see here the absence of the inside of the tree.

Years ago when we lived in Powder Springs, Georgia, there was a tree much like this on one of the main turns to get to our house. I'm terrible with directions and that tree was instrumental in getting me home the three years we lived there.
Great pic. It's neat that they left the upper portions of the tree too. I saw another much like it in Zephyrhills, Florida recently that reminded us of that one in Georgia.
