Hay Day Part II

These photos were taken in the evening already. We were at the Farmer's barn. The forth one that we filled! The hay went up into the hay loft with the 'elevator band'. Our men were the biggest helpers, because they are so strong. The girls were really great helpers, too, and it turned out they had more strength and energy than the Moms!
Soon we will have a second Hay Day. We are waiting for "that phone call"....whenever the hay is ready and it doesn't rain! I feel like a farmer now ;-)

What great photos! It is so beautiful up there where you live! It looks like there were a lot of helpers that day. You must have felt satisfied (and tired) at the end of the day. Enjoy your time with your company and have a great weekend!

These photographs bring back a lot of memories of hard work. It used to be even harder than baled hay is. We had to fork it off the ground onto hay wagons and then horses carried the load into the barn and a giant hay fork dropped down and picked up some off the wagon and went up and ran on a track over to the hay mow where a rope was tripped and the hay dropped into the mow. A man or two stood there and forked it around to make it even. It was hard work.

I like your post today very much.

Wolfgang
