Groundhog in the Little Forest

The other day I heard our dog bark like crazy (she normally never barks). When I went out I found her underneath a tree next to the house and this groundhog or woodchuck was pinned to the tree. I came to his rescue! I took Abby in and the little guy went hiding again. Needless to say, Abby was looking for him for a couple of days, but never got him.

That Abby is quite the hunter! She must love being out there in the little forest. Was she annoyed with you for spoiling her fun?

Wow! I've never seen a groundhog climb a tree like that before. I didn't know they could do that. It's a good thing you grabbed your camera!

I did not know what wanted to say “groundhog”, into French that is translated “marmot”. beautiful photograph, I had ever seen marmots like that there

That's so cool! I wish I saw it. I've only seen them on the road at night a couple times. Nice pictures.

Hi, first time at your blog. Great pictures and I love the tales of your family and wildlife.
I thought I was looking at a bear is a past post. Great fun.
Never saw a groundhog in a tree either. Abby did you a favor so you could get a picture for all of us to see.

I don't think that we have those here -- at least I haven't seen one. Every other kind of furry animal, though. :)
