Woodpecker II

End of November I showed woodpeckers at our feeder. This one is of a different kind.
Ende November habe ich schon mal Spechte an unserem Vogelhaus gezeigt. Dieser nun ist von einer anderen Sorte.

It is called a red-bellied woodpecker...which seems like a silly name considerring that it is his head that is red. I was curious so I got my bird book out to identify him. (and it is a male)

Thanks, Priscilla, you inspired me! I got my bird book out, too, and labled them now (also the ones from Nov 29th which are called Yellow-Bellied Woodpeckers)
:-)
We will be bird experts!!

Sorry, the one from Nov. 29th is called Yellow Bellied Sapsucker! Not Woodpecker.

Are you sure they are not Downy Woodpeckers?
