Visit to Connecticut

My friend Heidi is here from Germany and we went to CT to my sisters' German Restaurant and the next day to New York City. We had hot summer weather and a lot of fun!
Meine Freundin Heidi ist da aus Deutschland u wir haben das deutsche Lokal meiner Schwester besucht u am naechsten Tag sind wir nach New York City gefahren. Wir hatten heisses Sommerwetter und viel Spass!

At the End of the Fair

This is Melissa with her trainer and of course, Miss Daisy-Mae. They had a very successful and fun fair week and everybody was kind of sad that it is over already! Melissa received a lot of ribbons and trophies.
Das ist Melissa mit ihrer Trainerin u natuerlich Miss Daisy-Mae. Sie hatten alle eine sehr erfolgreiche u gute Woche u alle waren etwas traurig, dass es schon rum ist.
Melissa hat jede Menge Pokale u Baender abgestaubt!!

Day Four, Western Show

I know that some of my readers find is boring to see so many photos of our daughter and her horse, but she herself is away at camp and she looks into my blog and enjoys the photos of her events etc. . ... They had another good day!
Ich weiss, dass einige Leser gelangweilt sind von den vielen Tochter-Pferd-Fotos, aber Melissa selbst schaut in den Blog waehrend sie im Camp ist .... sie sind also auch fuer sie u sie erfreut sich daran wenn sie sich erinnert. . . Sie hatten auch hier einen guten Tag!

Day Three, Mounted Games

Gestern hatten die "Kids" einen Spieletag auf den Pferden. Hier sieht man Melissa u Daisy bei einer Art Staffellauf u bei einem Spiel wo man Post im Briefkasten abholen muss u bringen muss. Sie hatten viel Spass!

County Fair - Kreis-Jahrmarkt

This week is our County Fair. Melissa is competing with her 4H Club. Here you can see her yesterday when she had to present her horse. She got a first place in this here ('Horsemanship') She was so nervous.... and then you can see how happy she was to get a blue ribbon!!
Tomorrow I will show more photos of games.
Diese Woche ist wieder der Kreis-Jahrmarkt. Melissa reitet wieder mit ihrem Club in verschiedenen Disziplinen. Gestern musste sie ihr Pferd vorstellen u Pferd u Reiter wurden beurteilt (das ist Pflicht). Sie bekam den ersten Platz in ihrer Klasse. Wie man sehen kann, war sie erst sehr nervoes u dann ganz happy!! Morgen zeige ich mehr Fotos von den Wettkaempfen.

Kayaking at the Lake

We are so thankful these days when we have a great summer day! Yesterday was one, and we took the chance and went kayaking at a friend's beach. Oh what fun!! The last photo is our sad attempt of taking a picture of ourselves. That alone was very funny!!
Zur Zeit sind wir immer froh, wenn wir mal einen richtigen Sommertag haben. Gestern war es so! Deshalb haben wir schnell die Chance genutzt u sind zu Freunden von uns an den See zum Kajaken! Es hat viel Spass gemacht! Das letzte Foto ist mit Zeitausloeser aufgenommen u das allein war lustig das so hinzubekommen!!

Down Memory Lane

I wanted to show Mike photos of our pool, that we had in our former house. We lived there for 8 years and loved having a pool!! It was pretty big - 20 x 40.
Now we 'just' have the lake, but this year the weather is disappointing! The water is still cold.... the pool had a heater!
Ich wollte Mike Fotos von unserem Pool zeigen, den wir in unserem frueheren Haus hatten. Wir haben dort 8 J. gelebt u liebten den Pool.
Nun haben wir 'nur' noch den See. Allerdings ist das Wasser noch immer kalt, da dieses Jahr der Sommer zu wuenschen uebrig laesst!! Der Pool hatte Heizung! Das war besser.
