Holding On

This is one of our old apple trees in our fruit section. This year it has a lot of apples and on my daily walks I collected many already for the horse. But these here are still holding on. Eventually they will be falling and be food for the deer. Doesn't it look funny without the leaves?
They look like decorations.

These kinds of apples are eaten by rabbits and sometimes a squirrel and often by deer. I just have crabapples and they are eaten by birds.

Things that feed us (the forest and not so wildlife) are the best part of having an orchard.
