This is a stick insect, it looks like a piece of wood, approx. 4 inches long. Interesting fellow on our front door!
Das ist eine Stabheuschrecke, die uns gestern an unserer Haustuer besucht hat. Ca. 7 cm lang. Ist das nicht ein interessantes Kerlchen? Sieht aus wie ein Stueck Holz mit Beinen.

Our Science museum has a fish tank full of them. They are so weird.

Wow. That reminds me of my most feared insect, the Praying Mantis. Those things used to scare me. If you want to have nightmares check out the youtube video of a praying mantis vs. a mouse. Yikes.

I think it is fascinating to see what God has created. Insects that look like sticks! Amazing!
We once found a walking stick on the barn at our old house. The only time I've ever seen one is when they are out in the open. They're much too difficult to see when they're hiding.
