I never really knew the difference.
I did a little looking around and found one site that said all toads are actually frogs. "True frogs" have very moist skin and spend most of their time in or near water. "True toads" have drier bumpier skin and spend most of their time on land. They're the ones who live in our gardens and hop around our lawns.
