Playing with Abby

Some time last week I took these pictures of our dog Abby. As you can see I was playing with the camera. One time I focused on the dog and one time on the beautiful background :-)
Irgendwann letzte Woche habe ich diese Aufnahmen von unserer Abby gemacht. Wie ihr sehen koennt, habe ich mit der Kamera rumgespielt. Einmal ist der Hund im Focus und einmal der schoene Hintergrund :-)

I like how you were able to do that. I need to learn more of that I can do with mine. I'm usually just shooting and running. :)

Our Family migrated from Germany in 1750. They came out of the Gros Gupkin (sp?) area. Both my son, and oldest daughter have been to Germany and really enjoyed it. As my daughter said...."it felt like home". Enjoyed your pictures. Thanks.

That's really cool, the way it focused, I really like it!

It is neat that you can do that with the camera. Some cameras can use a pin hole like opening when they take pictures so that it makes the fore ground and the back ground in sharp focus.

For example I can set my camera at 125th of a second at f5.6 and that gives me a sharp picture of the thing I am taking a picture of but throws everything behind that out of focus. The smaller the number the larger the lens opening and it makes things out of focus beyond whatever you focused on.

I can also set it at 125 at f16 or f22 and that makes everything in the picture in sharp focus. The larger the number the smaller the lens opens and makes things sharpest.

It is neat to learn these things as you make progress with your camera.

Love the pics! Abby is a beautiful dog and like Tumbleweed I can tell she enjoys to be photographed.

I've tried that and not gotten it right yet. I'll have to go back to classes. Good pictures!

Yes, Gudl you are really a great photographer...love all your pictures.

Now these of Abby and the background are wonderful, and makes me miss our big "Sam" that died several years ago.
