This week was unseasonably cold here, but of course that did not keep me from walking throught the woods. I found this egg lying on the ground, it was very small, almost like a jelly bean. I didn't see a nest.
Diese Woche war es hier fuer die Jahreszeit zu kuehl, aber das hat mich nicht davon abgehalten durch den Wald zu laufen. Dabei habe ich dieses kleine Ei auf dem Boden liegen sehen, es war so klein wie ein kl. Schokoladenosterei. Ein Nest habe ich aber nicht gesehen.

That was the size of the eggs that were in the nest I accidently knocked down from by window blind.
I'm still sad about that. You have a beautiful forest...I love it.

Yeah....sad. But it is a part of the circle of life. If left to itself...it may very well help another species survive as part of it's lunch.
