What's in this Box??

Abby was very interested in the box that the mailman delivered! What's all the peeping in there?
Surprise, surprise, the new chicks arrived!!
They were one day old.
Now they are living happyly in their big box in the warm basement.
I will show more tomorrow.
Abby war sehr an dem Paket interessiert, dass die Post gebracht hat. Was piepst denn so darin? Ueberraschung! Die neuen Kueken sind angekommen!
Sie waren hier einen Tag alt.
Nun leben sie gluecklich in ihrer Kiste bei uns im warmen Keller. Morgen zeige ich mehr.

Oh, I remember well getting several hundred baby chicks in boxes out on the farm. They even smell good for a day or so! And peep, my goodness do they peep!

This picture brought back a lot of memories. My mother used to order baby chicks from Sears and Roebuck and they would come to our country post office and drive the owner crazy until we got them home.

Happy Valentine's Day to you and to your family from me and Patty.

Oh - precious! It seems so long ago that mine were that small, but it hasn't even been a year yet! How many did you get?

My Dad, years ago, ordered chicks by mail. What a memory that brought back!

It just amazes me how they come in the mail... or that you can get them that way. Zach, a little boy at our school shows chickens. He knows so much about them. We tease him about having chicken on the brain... giggle.

Good luck with the new additions to your family!
